Stephan Petrichenko

(1892 ---> 2 June 1947) 

Petrichenko was born in 1892 in Nikitenka to a peasant family. He went to Alexandrovsk City College, studying Engineering. He became a metalworker at a local ironworks.

In 1913, he joined the Russian Navy. During the February Revolution, he was in Nargen (now Naissaar). He became Head of Soldiers and Fortress Builders of Nargen and a commander within the Socialist Revolutionary Party, fighting against the Bolsheviks, but resigned after a very short period of time. He returned to the Socialist Revolutionary Party. He returned to his naval career as an engineer on the battleship Petropavlovsk. He took responsibility for guiding the fleet in 1920. 

He fled to Finland, where he made a successful career as a political and military author, writing about his own experiences. He stayed in Finland from 1921 until 1945, when he was arrested and deported to Vladimir Prison. Here, he died on 2nd June 1947.
