Dmitri Zhloba

(7 June 1887 - 10 June 1938)

Dmitri was born in Kiev, Ukraine. In May 1916, he was arrested for participation in a revolt. He was given the choice of prison or 4 years service in the army. In 1917, he was a member of Moscow Soviet Party and commanded a Red Guard detachment. He was assigned to the Caucasus Front in May 1918. He commanded the 18th Cavalry Division and 11th Soviet Red Army in Georgia. For his successful campaigns, Zhloba was awarded two Orders of the Red Banner. In 1922, he was sacked and handed over to Stalin by members of his own party. He was executed by Stalin on June 10th, 1938.
