Fyodor Sergeyev
(19 March 1883 ---> 24 July 1921)
Sergeyev was born in 1883 in the village of Glebovo, Fatezh (Russia). He attended Yekaterinoslav Realschule, followed by Moscow Imperial Technical College, but was expelled for "protesting vehemently".
In 1902, he became a member of the Russian Social Democratic Labour Party (RSDLP). He was arrested in 1905 and sent to Siberia. In 1910, he escaped to Brisbane Australia. Here, he became a chief editor of the 'Echo' newspaper.
In 1917, he returned to Russia becoming a leader of the Bolsheviks within Kharkiv Council. In October, he was the organizer of the military coup d'etat in Kharkiv. He then secured the nationalization of industrial centres of East Ukraine.
On 27th March 1917, he organized the Donetsk Army , which was later integrated into the 5th Bolshevik Army. Fyodor died in 1921 during the Aerowagon disaster (a high-speed train "The Aerowagon" derailed whilst carrying Soviet officials, killing the passengers) and was buried in the Kremlin Wall Necropolis. His infant son was adopted by Stalin.
