Matvej K Tsaplin (1886 ---> 26 September 1918) Tsaplin was born in 1886 to a peasant family. He started his career as a tailor in the city of Shuya. He became a member of the Russian Social Democratic Labour Party in 1905. In March 1917, he became a member of the Land Commission Council of Barnaul. In December 1917, he became Chairman of the Barnaul Military Revolutionary Committee. On 26th May 1918, he was appointed Chairman of the General Revolutionary Committee. Shortly after, he was captured by the Whites. He was executed on September 26th 1918. |
